With only one month to go, time is ticking to submit to SCAM 2016 the International Conference on Source Code Analysis and Manipulation. The conference is suited for researchers and practitioners that are interested or work on theories, techniques, and/or applications that concern analysis and/or manipulation of the source code of software systems. The conference is well-known for its interactive format with lots of time for discussions, questions and feedback and its strong community.

The keynote will be given by Michele Lanza, full professor at the faculty of informatics at the University of Lugano in Switzerland.

This year SCAM is held in the “City of Oaks”, i.e.,  Raleigh, North Carolina. Or as David Shepherd — this year’s general chair of SCAM  — calls it:  in the Land of BBQ, Beer, & Bluegrass.

    There are two tracks:

    1. a research track suited for submissions that describe original and significant work in the field of source code analysis and manipulation (10 pages) and
    2. an engineering track for papers that report for example the design and implementation of tools for source code analysis and manipulation (6 pages).

All accepted papers will appear in the proceedings which will be published by the IEEE Computer Society Press.

Important dates for research and engineering papers:

    • Abstract Deadline: 20 June 2016
    • Paper Deadline: 24 June 2016
    • Notification: 29 July 2016

The conference date is 2&3 October 2016. The conference will be held at  City Center Marriott, which is located in a lively area of the city.

I am one of the program chairs for the research track (together with Gabrielle Bavota) and I am hoping I could gain your interest and that I see your submission next month, or to see you at the conference itself in October. Note: Submissions can be done electronically in PDF format via EasyChair at https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=scam2016.
